Fidanza, the flywheel specialists, have launched a direct replacement lightweight flywheel for the mighty 2.7-liter engine found in the RS4 B5, S4 B5, A6 & Allroad C5. The aluminum flywheel replaces the heavy dual-mass standard flywheel and improves the power-to-weight ratio making the engine more responsive and improving performance. Crafted from high-quality machined 6061 T6 aluminum with a 1050 steel friction surface, CNC machined fastener holes, and chamfers. The friction surface of the flywheel is a replaceable steel plate, so when the surface eventually becomes worn it can be replaced without the need for a new flywheel. Good eh? Includes replaceable metal friction surface and steel tone ring for crank sensor pickup. Machined in residence at 034Motorsport. New low-profile flywheel bolts and pilot bearings are included!

Q: What does a flywheel do? Why purchase a flywheel?
A: A flywheel is part of your clutch assembly, and can make a large distinction in how your car responds while you press the gasoline pedal. Lightened flywheels are comprised of aluminum or Chromoly, which reduces the rotating mass by way of dramatically trimming weight compared to your heavy manufacturing unit OEM flywheel. Because the lighter flywheel has less inertia, the engine doesn't want that ton of torque (power) to spin the flywheel to attain a positive rpm. The end result is your vehicle's rpm will boom faster. Additionally, the reduced weight on my own will provide you with a bump in power.

Q: How do you put in a flywheel?
A: We advocate professional setup since dropping the transmission or entire motor is commonly needed. Once the transmission is off of the block, you may go beforehand and eliminate your grasp setup and flywheel. Replace the manufacturing facility flywheel with your aftermarket one, and re-set up the snatch. (Buying a brand new take-hold of is a great idea at this point because it needs to be taken off anyway.)
